Bharuch, Gujarat —  On the occasion of World Environment Day, the Adani Foundation launched a significant tree plantation program across Luwara village in the Dahej area and Koliapada village in the Netrang area of Bharuch district.

The event saw the presence of numerous dignitaries, including Adani Port Marine Head Girish Chandra, Adani Ocean Sparkle Limited Head Ankit Agrawal, and Dahej Marine Police DySP Kharadi. Their participation, alongside local leaders like the Luwara village Sarpanch, dedicated farmers, Sakhi Mandal sisters, and enthusiastic children from the Utthan Project, highlighted the community-wide embrace of this vital environmental cause.

The tree plantation drive was more than just a symbolic gesture; it marked the beginning of an impressive year-long program by the Adani Foundation, Dahej. Various indigenous tree species were planted, strategically chosen to enhance local biodiversity and ecological balance. The core objective is to cultivate widespread awareness about environmental protection and encourage a lifestyle that actively contributes to its restoration.

“Our planet’s health is directly linked to our own well-being,” stated Adani Port Marine Head Girish Chandra. “By planting these trees, we are not just adding greenery; we are investing in the future of our communities, improving air quality, and supporting vital ecosystems. This is a testament to our collective responsibility towards Mother Earth.”

The Adani Foundation has set an ambitious target of planting over 10,000 trees across the Dahej and Netrang areas within the next year. This initiative aligns with global efforts to combat climate change and promote sustainable development at the grassroots level. The enthusiastic response from the local populace was evident, with participants pledging their full support.

Ankit Agrawal, Head of Adani Ocean Sparkle Limited, expressed his optimism, stating, “The commitment shown by the villagers, Sakhi Mandal sisters, and the children today is truly inspiring. Their promise to nurture these saplings reflects a deep understanding of environmental stewardship. This collaborative effort will ensure the success of our goal to plant and nurture more than 10,000 trees, making a tangible difference in the environmental landscape of Bharuch.”
