NTPC Kawas Marks World Environment Day with Green Drive

Surat, Gujarat – NTPC Kawas commemorated World Environment Day by organizing a pledge ceremony, walkathon, and tree plantation drive on 5th June 2025, promoting awareness on environmental conservation and sustainable living among employees and their families.

Under the leadership of Shri Suresh John David, Head of Project, employees, their families, and CISF personnel pledged to avoid single-use plastic and promote energy conservation.

Students of the Girl Empowerment Mission (GEM) 2025 also participated with great enthusiasm, taking a pledge to maintain a clean, green, and healthy environment.

The event was graced by the presence of Shri Sanjay Kumar Mittal, AGM (O&M); Shri Sanjit Kumar Minz, AGM (HR); Shri Vineet Gupta AGM (TS),  and Smt. Shanija M. George, President, Swati Mahila Mandal, along with Heads of Departments, employees, Swati Mahila Mandal members, and children.

The celebration concluded with a tree plantation drive in the Township, where GEM 2025 students and other participants planted saplings—reaffirming NTPC Kawas’ commitment to a greener and more sustainable future.
