Vadnagar (Gujarat) : Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel on Monday officially inaugurated the light and sound show, raised the flag at the golden peak, and inaugurated the newly built yagnashala during the three-day festival taking place in Vadnagar.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has encouraged the embrace of the philosophy of “Virasat Bhi, Vikas Bhi” to enhance awareness among tourists and the public about the nation’s rich history, culture, and other remarkable aspects by safeguarding the heritage of various sites, places of mythological and historical significance, and diverse monuments across the country.

Guided by Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, the state government has adopted the Prime Minister’s initiative with the newly established Light and Sound Show at the Hatkeshwar Temple in Vadnagar.

In an effort to provide visitors to the Hatkeshwar Temple with an in-depth understanding of its mythological history, Gujarat Tourism Corporation Limited has launched a cutting-edge Light and Sound Show, with an investment of Rs. 5.53 crores.

The Chief Minister took part in the Shiv Panchayat Pran Pratishtha Mahotsav with great dedication on this occasion.  He also revered Hatkeshwar Mahadev and paid tribute to the families who contributed to the golden peak.

The Chief Minister announced that Vadnagar, the birthplace of Prime Minister Narendrabhai Modi, has emerged as a popular destination for tourists both locally and internationally, thanks to its heritage sites such as the Archaeological Experiential Museum, Kirti Toran, Sharmistha Lake, Tanariri Park, Buddhist Monastery, and Theme Park.

A new feature has been introduced to this site, showcasing a cutting-edge light and sound presentation that tells the tale of the renowned Puranic Hatkeshwar Mahadev.

Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel emphasized the unmatched religious and historical significance of the Hatkeshwar Mahadev temple in Vadnagar, recognized as a key pilgrimage destination in Gujarat.

The rich history of the Hatkeshwar Mahadev temple, where Lord Shiva is said to have emerged from the underworld as Swayambhu, is documented in both ‘Nagarkhand’ and ‘Skanda Purana’.

The Hatkeshwar Mahadev temple, revered as the clan deity of the Nagar caste, occupies a significant position of devotion globally.

The ancient temple boasts magnificent sculptures, featuring a grand pavilion and intricate carvings that illustrate the ten incarnations of Vishnu, along with depictions related to the Pandavas’ forest stay, captivating all who visit.

Every year, thousands of devotees, including those from the Nagar community, travel from both near and far to visit Hatkeshwar Mahadev.

A special light and sound show has been organized by the Tourism Department to delve deeper into the ancient history and rich heritage of the temple.

He also mentioned that this show will engage the devotees with the rich history of Hatkeshwar Mahadev in an engaging manner, enhancing their journey with heartfelt devotion.

The homeland of Prime Minister Narendra Bhai Modi has now emerged as a focal point for visitors both locally and internationally.

The Chief Minister announced that this year, approximately 6 lakh individuals have traveled to Vadnagar, gaining insight into the town’s rich historical and mythological significance.

The Hatkeshwar Temple in Vadnagar has now joined the ranks as the seventh pilgrimage site in the state to offer a light and sound show experience.

Millions of visitors flock to sacred sites such as Somnath, Ambaji, Shamlaji, and Modhera, as well as renowned attractions like the Statue of Unity and Dhordo in Kutch. They experience the rich history and captivating narratives of these locations through an impressive light and sound spectacle.
