Surat Police Bust Rajasthan Gang Using Fake Plates for Scrap Theft

Surat : Three members of a notorious Rajasthan gang have been apprehended by the Surat police. They had disguised themselves as transporters, utilizing fake number plates to steal iron scrap and other industrial materials valued at lakhs of rupees in Surat. 

The Ichhapore police station recorded a complaint from a scrap dealer who reported that he engaged a transporter to deliver his iron scrap goods to Punjab.  The transporter assigned the transport trailer with registration number RJ50GA6845 to load the goods.  The driver of the trailer, carrying iron scrap worth Rs 17 lakh, set off for Mandi Govindgarh in Punjab for the delivery.  The items were not delivered to the specified address in Punjab, and the truck driver committed a criminal breach of trust with the complainant.  A complaint was filed at the Ichhapore police station. 

Subsequently, the accused were absent from their residences in Rajasthan.  The police discovered that the accused had rented a godown to store the stolen iron scrap material.  In the course of the raid, law enforcement officials seized iron scrap valued at Rs 8.63 lakh, along with cash. 

PSI Jadeja and his team traveled to the accused’s hometown in Nagor, Rajasthan.  Based on technical and human sources, information was gathered and the individual identified as Mangilal Bansilal Bishnoi.  Village Dholiyader, Dist Nagor (Rajasthan) and Savaisingh Asusingh Rajput, resident of Ramdeonagar, Siddhipura Nagor (Rajasthan) and owner of Bikaner Transport in Surat, Ramkumar Hanuman Karir (Bishnoi).  The accused concealed the goods in another godown at the request of Ramkumar Bishnoi.

 PSI Jadeja stated, “The individuals involved in this case regularly create counterfeit number plates for vehicles, including cars and trucks, and attach them to their trucks while concealing the original number plates.”
