Surat : The Adani Foundation held a seminar focused on enhancing education, collaborating with the Gujarat government’s education department, the parents’ community, and Utthan sahayaks as part of the Utthan project at Bhatlai primary school in Hazira, Surat. The gathering took place with Gujarat’s education minister, Praful Pansheriya, presiding over the proceedings.

Over the past five years, the Adani Foundation has collaborated with the Education Department to support children facing challenges in reading, writing, and arithmetic in government schools through the Utthan Project. Five years have passed since the inception of this initiative, and it was commemorated at Bhatlai.

The Utthan Project is designed to align with the objectives of the new National Education Policy, focusing on equipping children with essential skills in reading, arithmetic, and writing. Simultaneously, Utthan Sahayakas collaborate with educators in government schools to foster the emotional, social, and intellectual growth of children. A private agency has conducted a study on this effort, and the findings were revealed by the Education Minister. The findings indicate a notable enhancement in the reading, writing, and mathematics abilities of Utthan students. A remarkable 94.8% of students indicated a boost in their classroom engagement. A significant 76.9% of students acknowledged the positive impact of assistant teachers on enhancing essential skills like communication, leadership, and computer literacy.

State Education Minister Prafulbhai Pansheriya expressed that the gift of knowledge is unparalleled, commending the Adani Foundation for its impactful contributions. He extended his congratulations in his capacity as the Education Minister. The values of kindness, honesty, affection, empathy, and behavior shape the essence of the community in young ones; the upbringing of those unfamiliar with the village remains unfinished. The state government has implemented numerous changes in the education sector, enhancing various facilities for both teachers and students. Under the guidance of Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, a remarkable transformation has taken place with 96,000 schools evolving into smart classes, the establishment of 21,000 computer labs, and the construction of 16,000 new rooms. The initiatives of the Adani Foundation’s Utthan project are highly commendable. I have learned about the transformations that have resulted from the collaborative efforts with the government. The Utthan project showcases the collaborative endeavors of the government, community, and industry.

At the outset of the program, Jatin Upadhyay, who leads the Education Department at Adani Foundation, provided an overview of the Utthan project. Panktiben Shah, the Head of Gujarat at the Adani Foundation, extended a warm welcome to all attendees. The attendees received the impact assessment report along with the success story book created by the Utthan assistants. The Adani Foundation has made significant contributions by presenting a cheque of Rs 25,000 to Kunal Surti, a student from Sanjivani High School, Damka, in recognition of his participation in the national level judo competition. Additionally, Hiral Patel from the same school received a cheque of ₹20,000 for her involvement in the national level weightlifting competition. Furthermore, Sanjivani High School, Damka, was awarded a cheque of Rs 1 lakh to assist in acquiring essential equipment to enhance the weightlifting program.

Parents, students, principals, and sarpanches expressed their gratitude for the efforts of the Utthan Sahayak. The students of Mora Primary School showcased their efforts from the Utthan Project in a captivating performance. Students from Bhatlai, Damka, Mora, and Ambhetha Primary Schools showcased their presentations.
