Ahmedabad : The Adani Group has taken a big step to support cricket in Jammu and Kashmir.

Through the Adani Foundation, they have donated ₹67.60 lakh to help young cricketers in the region. Many talented players in Jammu and Kashmir lack resources and opportunities due to poverty. This contribution aims to change that.

The funds will support Aamir Hussain, a disabled cricketer from Anantnag, in building an indoor cricket academy.

Aamir lost both his hands in an accident at his father’s mill when he was just eight years old. Despite this, he has been playing cricket since 2013.

He bats by holding the bat between his shoulder and neck and bowls using his legs.

Aamir’s dream is to provide free cricket training to underprivileged youth. The academy will train players from districts like Bijbehara, Anantnag, Pulwama, and Shopian.

Aamir has created a detailed plan for the academy. It includes an indoor facility and a playground where about 100 players will train every year.

The focus will be on coaching Under-16 and Under-19 players for prestigious tournaments like the Ranji Trophy.

Aamir believes the youth in the region have great talent in spin, fast bowling, and swing. He hopes they will one day represent India at national and international levels.

This initiative has been praised by Gautam Adani and cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar.

It highlights the Adani Group’s commitment to promoting sports and supporting talent.

The cricket academy will give many young players a chance to improve their skills.

It will also inspire them to chase their dreams, no matter the challenges they face.

This is a significant step toward transforming the future of cricket in Jammu and Kashmir.
