Freight train coach derailed near Valsad

Valsad : A freight train coach derailed between the Valsad-Dungra railway station in south Gujarat on Friday evening. The freight train was traveling from the main line to the side line when it derailed, according to railway officials. 

According to official authorities, the incident resulted in no casualties. Fortunately, only one coach of the freight train derailed. The incident occurred as the train crossed the Valsad railway station. 

The freight train’s loco pilot is being questioned by railway officials, and attempts are being taken to clear train traffic as quickly as possible.

The derailment on Friday evening disrupted train traffic on the main line connecting Ahmedabad and Mumbai. A large number of railway employees from Valsad station have arrived to clear the derailed coach from the railway tracks. 

On May 29, 2024, a freight coach derailed near Palghar. A goods train carrying approximately six coaches derailed in Palghar, Maharashtra, which is part of the Mumbai metropolitan region. As a result, the Western Railway cancelled dozens of trains. The railways have issued helpline numbers to assist passengers. Trains between Mumbai and Gujarat were the most severely impacted after a carriage of a cargo train derailed in Palghar.
