VADODARA, GUJARAT : An alarming situation unfolded at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport on Wednesday evening when a crew member discovered a tissue paper bearing the word “bomb” in the washroom of an Air India flight bound for Vadodara. The incident prompted immediate action from airport authorities and law enforcement, leading to a thorough search of the aircraft, according to police reports.

The discovery was made around 7 PM as the crew prepared for takeoff. Upon finding the suspicious note, the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) and Delhi Police were promptly notified. Passengers were asked to deplane as a precautionary measure, and a comprehensive security sweep of the aircraft was conducted. The passengers bound to Vadodara arrived on Thursday afternoon.

“A crew member noticed the tissue paper at 7 PM while the aircraft was ready for takeoff. Both the Central Industrial Security Force and the Delhi Police were informed of the situation, and passengers were asked to deplane,” explained a police officer involved in the investigation.

The police and security teams conducted a detailed inspection of the aircraft, which included a search for any potential explosives or other hazardous items. After an exhaustive search, authorities found no suspicious items on board. The aircraft was subsequently cleared for takeoff, but passengers were accommodated on another flight to ensure their safety and convenience.

“After the tissue was discovered on Wednesday evening, authorities conducted a search of the flight. However, no suspicious items were found, and the aircraft was cleared for takeoff,” clarified a police officer.

The incident caused a significant delay and created a sense of unease among passengers. The passengers, though inconvenienced by the delay, were later accommodated on another flight, ensuring their journey continued safely.
