VADODARA, GUJARAT : Voters in Vadodara showcased unparalleled determination and commitment to democracy as they braved challenging circumstances to participate in the Lok Sabha elections. Amidst scenes of great resilience, three patients admitted to hospitals in Vadodara overcame health obstacles to exercise their constitutional right to vote, inspiring onlookers with their unwavering civic spirit.

At the Gorwa ITI polling station in Vadodara, a heart attack patient arrived in an ambulance and was stretchered into the booth to cast his vote, leaving witnesses astonished by his dedication. Similarly, at the Hansa Mehta Primary School polling station in Vadsar, another seriously ill patient arrived by ambulance and voted, underscoring the importance of civic engagement even in the face of adversity. Additionally, a paralytic patient also voted, serving as an inspiration to all present.

Kamlesh Limbachia, a 40-year-old heart attack survivor, epitomized the spirit of determination as he insisted on voting despite his critical condition. Admitted to Banker Heart Hospital, Limbachia underwent treatment and received a stent in his heart. Undeterred by his health scare, he was transported to the polling station at Gorwa ITI in an ambulance and cast his vote while lying on a stretcher. Expressing his commitment to the democratic process, Limbachia emphasized the importance of voting for the nation’s progress and thanked the hospital for facilitating his participation.

Accompanying her husband to the polling station, Shraddhaben Limbachia echoed the sentiment, stressing the significance of voting in every election. Another patient, Mayurbhai Patel, emphasized the necessity of voting despite his serious illness, urging fellow citizens to exercise their right responsibly.

In a heartening display of solidarity, Dineshbhai Shah arranged for an ambulance to transport him to the polling station at Manjalpur, exemplifying the collective determination to participate in the democratic process.

The Banker Heart Hospital played a crucial role in facilitating patients’ access to polling stations, providing free ambulance services and ensuring medical assistance was readily available. With three dedicated teams and medical personnel on standby, the hospital’s initiative underscored the importance of inclusive participation in democratic elections.
