Ahmedabad : As the electoral race for the Lok Sabha intensifies, the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) candidate for the Ahmedabad East constituency, Hasmukh Patel, officially entered the fray by filing his nomination papers on Monday. Accompanied by a contingent of party leaders and supporters, Patel commenced his nomination process at the Lal Darwaza District Panchayat Bhavan amidst an atmosphere charged with political fervor.

Patel’s journey to formalize his candidacy commenced early in the day, with a visit to the Bapunagar central office, where he conferred with local MLAs and city leaders. Amid well-wishes and words of encouragement from state minister Jagdish Panchal, city president Amit Shah, and other prominent BJP figures, Patel proceeded to the nomination venue.

At precisely 12:39 pm, Patel submitted his nomination papers before the District Development Officer at the Lal Darwaza Bahumali Bhawan, marking a significant milestone in his electoral campaign. Notably, former councillor Babubhai Zafia and former AMTS chairman Bhaskar Bhatt also filed nomination papers as dummy candidates, symbolizing party solidarity and support for Patel’s candidacy.

Meanwhile, the stage is set for other contenders in Gujarat’s electoral landscape. Dinesh Makwana, the BJP candidate for the West Lok Sabha seat, is slated to file his nomination papers on Tuesday, joined by Congress candidate Bharat Makwana. Both candidates are expected to embark on public rallies across Sarangpur, Kalupur, Prem Darwaza, Shahibaug, and Subhash Bridge before submitting their nominations.

The spotlight will soon shift to the Gandhinagar Lok Sabha constituency, where Union Home Minister Amit Shah is poised to file his nomination papers on April 19. Preceding this pivotal moment, Shah will lead a roadshow and public meeting in Ahmedabad and Sanand on April 18, symbolizing the BJP’s formidable electoral machinery in Gujarat.

As the electoral drama unfolds in Gujarat, all eyes remain fixated on the contesting candidates and their strategies to sway voters. With nomination filings marking the commencement of a frenetic campaign season, the political landscape is set for a high-stakes battle that will ultimately shape the course of Gujarat’s representation in the Lok Sabha.
