Vadodara Beef Samosa Case: Alleged Cow Beef Supplier Arrested, Investigation Expands

Vadodara : The City Police have arrested Fardeen Mohammed, the supplier of cow beef allegedly used in samosas sold at the popular Hussaini Samosa Centre. This brings the total number of arrests in the case to eight.

Fardeen, a resident of Bhalej in Anand district, is a business partner of Imran Yusuf Qureshi, who was previously apprehended on April 8th for supplying the meat to the samosa shop owners, Yusuf Sheikh and Naeem Sheikh.

In a joint operation involving the Vadodara police, SOG (Special Operations Group), and officials from the Vadodara Municipal Corporation’s health and food department, Fardeen was apprehended in Anand on Tuesday.

The investigation is ongoing, with authorities looking into the possibility of similar beef samosas being sold at franchise outlets of Hussaini Samosa Centre in other cities. Additionally, the police are exploring the involvement of other individuals within Vadodara who might have been part of the meat supply chain.

On Saturday last, the Local Crime Branch of Vadodara City Zone 4 raided Hussaini Samosa’s Chhipwad outlet, seizing a significant amount of evidence. This included 113 kg of cow beef and 152 kg of filling used in the samosa preparation. Six individuals, including the shop owners Yusuf Sheikh and Naeem Sheikh, along with employees Hanif Bhathiyara, Dilawar Pathan, Moin Habdal, and Mobin Shaikh, were arrested at that time.

This latest arrest signifies the Vadodara police’s continued efforts to investigate and dismantle the alleged operation behind the sale of cow beef samosas at Hussaini Samosa Centre. The investigation’s scope may widen to encompass potential franchise violations and the involvement of a larger network within Vadodara.
