Surat :A touching video that captures the act of responsibility and civic duty shown by the family of a groom in Surat, Gujarat, has gone trendy on social media. The video was captured by the relatives of the groom. In the video, the bridal procession is seen coming to a stop in the Katargam area. Instead of rejoicing, the relatives are seen cleaning the road, which is covered with garbage from firecrackers.

What brought forth this extraordinary behaviour? Another wedding procession was fined Rs 5,000 only a few days ago for leaving behind firework garbage. The Surat Municipal Corporation (SMC) has adopted stringent restrictions against littering, and these regulations have been in place for quite some time. The groom’s family took things into their own hands in order to prevent a situation like this from occurring again and to ensure that the city continues to maintain its cleanliness.

A heartwarming video has gone viral on social media, capturing the Gujarati act of responsibility and civic duty displayed by the relatives of a groom in #Surat, Gujarat#SalmanKhan #DollyChaiwala #JabWeMetAnantAmbani @CommissionerSMC @OurSMC @MySuratMySMC @CMOGuj pic.twitter.com/oEO9wBazjQ

Armed with brooms, they painstakingly cleaned the road, gathering the remains of firecrackers and ensuring that the parade could go without any fines being imposed. Their act of civic duty attracted a lot of attention from passersby and commuters, who stopped to watch and even participate in the impromptu cleaning effort that they were doing.

An explanation of their motive was provided by Ravi Patel, a relative of the groom, in a statement. He said, “Instead of leaving the mess for sanitation workers to clean and potentially facing a fine, we decided to take responsibility and clean the road ourselves.” Because the whole road was covered with debris from firecrackers, we felt it was our responsibility to contribute to the cleanliness of Surat, which is the cleanest city in India.

The video that captures this act of duty has been extensively shared on social media platforms, and internet users have expressed their admiration for the action and they have praised the families for their dedication to maintaining a clean environment. In addition, Surat Mayor Daxesh Mavani went to his social media accounts, including Facebook and Twitter, to express his admiration for the activity and to praise the citizens involved for their outstanding demonstration of civic awareness.

As a bright example of how individual responsibility and community spirit may work together to preserve cleanliness and contribute to a better living environment, this occurrence stands as a shining example. “As the video continues to spread, it serves as a reminder to all of us of the significance of taking responsibility for our surroundings and doing what we can to ensure that our cities remain clean,” said a senior health officer in the SMC.
