Gujarat : Ahmedabad witness 21 Covid Cases in 2 Days, Most Home Isolated
"Out of the 21 new cases, 8 individuals had travel history," revealed an official from the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC). "These included residents returning from Canada, USA, Mumbai, Kerala, Vadodara, and Kutch."
Ahmedabad : The festive cheer in Ahmedabad took a slight dampener with a sudden spike in Covid-19 cases. 21 new infections were reported, pushing the city’s active caseload to 59.
“Out of the 21 new cases, 8 individuals had travel history,” revealed an official from the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC). “These included residents returning from Canada, USA, Mumbai, Kerala, Vadodara, and Kutch.”
However, what might raise eyebrows is the revelation that only one of these 21 individuals required hospitalization. “The remaining 58 cases, including all new infections, are currently self-isolating at home,” the official confirmed.
Navrangpura, a bustling commercial and residential hub, emerged as the epicenter of this mini-surge, reporting the highest number of cases. Other areas like Bodakdev, Jodhpur, Shahibaug, and Sarkhej also featured on the list of high-positivity zones.
Despite the rising numbers, an AMC health official downplayed concerns, stating, “There’s no need to panic. Covid-19 has become non-lethal for most individuals.” This statement, however, has left some residents apprehensive, questioning the validity of home isolation for potentially symptomatic individuals.
“Confining infected individuals to their homes, especially in densely populated areas like Navrangpura, is a risky gamble,” commented Dr. Patel, a local physician. “Proper monitoring and access to medical care are crucial even for seemingly mild cases, especially with new Covid variants emerging.”
