Surat : In a society where loyalty and integrity are often overshadowed by greed and self-interest, there are individuals like Mukesh Rabadia who restore our faith in humanity. Amidst increasing crime rates and a damaged social fabric, Mukesh Rabadia, a diamond trader in Surat, has set a remarkable example by returning a diamond parcel worth Rs 7 lakh to its rightful owner.

The incident took place at the Sardar Diamond Market in Mini Bazaar, Varachha on July 5. Mukesh Rabadia found the packet containing diamonds from Sardar diamond market in Varachha’s Mini Bazaar. Rabadia waited at the location for its owner to come searching for the packet, but nobody turned up. However, he went to his office and kept the diamond parcel in his safe-vault.

Recognizing the value and significance of the lost diamonds, Mukesh Rabadia discovered the parcel and took swift action to locate its rightful owner. Rabadia promptly posted a picture of the diamond parcel on a WhatsApp group comprising fellow diamond traders, seeking assistance in finding the owner.

The diamond parcel, belonging to Babu Dobaria, a diamond trader operating in the Mini Bazaar, was lost on July 5 when it accidentally slipped from Dobaria’s pocket while he was removing a handkerchief.

Mukesh Rabadia’s act of honesty and loyalty has garnered widespread appreciation in the diamond industry and beyond. At a time when Surat’s diamond industry is grappling with the challenges of sanctions on Russian diamonds and workers facing job losses due to a recession, Mukesh’s noble gesture stands as a beacon of hope.

The exchange of the diamond parcel between Mukesh Rabadia and Babu Dobaria in the presence of the Surat Diamond Association’s (SDA) office-bearers not only highlighted Mukesh’s integrity but also emphasized the values upheld by the diamond trading community. Such acts of honesty contribute significantly to the preservation of trust and goodwill within the industry.

Mukesh Rabadia’s exemplary conduct serves as a reminder that amidst the complexities and challenges faced by society, there are individuals who possess unwavering integrity and a deep sense of responsibility towards others. By choosing to do the right thing, Mukesh has demonstrated that the virtues of honesty and loyalty transcend borders, cultural differences, and economic hardships.

As news of this incident spreads, it is hoped that Mukesh Rabadia’s act will inspire others to follow in his footsteps, contributing to the collective efforts of rebuilding trust and fostering a stronger social fabric.

“SDA commends Mukesh Rabadia for his outstanding display of integrity, and the industry at large recognizes the significance of such gestures in maintaining the highest ethical standards within the diamond trade’ said Nanu Vekariya, president of SDA.
