Ahmedabad :  Dr KR Shroff Foundation (KRSF), a decade-old institution dedicated towards uplifting underprivileged communities through education, on Thursday announced it has partnered with Dr Jivraj Mehta Smarak Health Foundation (JMSHF), for philanthropic causes. As part of the collaboration, KRSF recently funded two major medical equipment at the Jivraj Mehta Hospital in Ahmedabad namely the Pneumatic Tubing System and the Endoscopy System.

The 202-bed multispecialty hospital is a trust-run entity and offers all major medical services at affordable costs. It is equipped with an OPD, an ICU facility, a casualty department along with radiology, pathology, kidney dialysis, health check-up and physiotherapy departments run by a team of seasoned 350 doctors. The hospital is also home to a fully functional blood bank.

The pneumatic tubing system is used to transport solid objects, whereas the Endoscopy system enables better diagnosis of patients by letting the healthcare practitioner examine the oesophagus, stomach, and the beginning of your small intestine. The initiative has been undertaken as part of KRSF’s commitment to support healthcareactivities undertaken by the JMSHF.

Time and again, KRSF has forged collaborations with several other institutions working in different sectors towards addressing a range of social issues, for the greater good of the society.

Commenting on the initiative, Dr. Pratul Shroff, Founder, KRSF, said, “Established in the loving memory of renowned physician, Dr KR Shroff, KRSF is committed to extending the scope of its work for various humanitarian causes, beyond education. JMSHF is committed to providing affordable, quality healthcare to people and its sustenance over the years bears testimony to their service to the society. KRSF takes immense pride in aiding the foundation’s healthcare initiatives by supporting requirements for latest, ultra-modern medical equipment to further improve its healthcare service delivery. We are proud to collaborate with JMSHF and look forward to more meaningful collaborations in future.”

Over the past decade, KRSF has been relentlessly and successfully working towards bringing about a measurable change in improving the quality of education across some 460 rural schools in 400 villages of Gujarat. The foundation helps educationally weaker students to be standard appropriate along with imparting value education and ensures holistic development of students.
