World Trade Centre and SGCCI to promote international trade and investment in Surat and south Gujarat
Khair Ull Nissa Sheikh, joint president of WTC India Services (customer engagement and distribution), visited the SGCCI headquarters in Sarsana to understand more about and discuss trade and industry development, centres of excellence, skill centres, women empowerment, global placements, and providing Surat entrepreneurs with access to the global market.
Surat : The World Trade Centre (WTC) India Services has offered to work with the Southern Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SGCCI) to turn Surat and south Gujarat into a centre for international trade and investment in the textile, gem and jewellery, plastics, and information technology (IT) industries.

“SGCCI is hosting two back-to-back exhibitions in the United States—Atlanta and Dellas—on ‘India Furniture and Décor Expo’ to increase bilateral trade between India and the United States in the furniture and interior décor,” said Himanshu Bodawala, president of SGCCI. WTC India Services and SGCCI can join forces to provide international market access to industries in South Gujarat such as textiles, diamonds, chemicals, and pharmaceuticals.”
“WTC is working in over 300 Indian cities with the government, industries, corporates, NGOs, and funding agencies,” said Khair Ull Nissa Sheikh, joint president of WTC India Services (customer engagement and distribution). Through our network, we support and work for India’s ‘Make in India,’ Digital India, Start-up India, and Aatmanirbhar India campaigns to develop the environment and ecosystem.”
“We are working for small and medium enterprises to provide them with global access, provide employment to Indian youths, and make young entrepreneurs,” Sheikh added.
WTC India Services, according to Sheikh, is currently collaborating with the central government, as well as various state governments and their investment agencies, to encourage investment in the region and strengthen trade relations with other countries.
