VMGMC SOLAPUR hosts world’s largest health and wellness festival
The Aarogya Nagri festival, which took place from June 16-21, 2023, was a hub for health and wellness initiatives of all kinds.
Solapur: The “Aarogya Nagri” health and wellness event at India’s Dr. Vaishampayan Memorial Government College broke a Guinness World Record. After five days and 18,125 attendees, this festival may rightfully claim to be the biggest of its type.
The Aarogya Nagri festival, which took place from June 16-21, 2023, was a hub for health and wellness initiatives of all kinds. The event brought together 170 medical professionals and 145 volunteers to treat attendees. Padma Shree awardees and other distinguished physicians travelled from all across India to speak to the next generation of Indian medical professionals and students.
A comprehensive health screening campaign spanning 12 medical subspecialties was the driving force behind the event. Consultations, biochemical testing, and health assessments were performed by medical experts to help detect health problems early and provide patients the care they needed as soon as possible.
Aarogya Nagri also used creative methods to educate participants about health and wellness. Captivating laser exhibitions highlighted health issues, such as rehabilitation programmes, while inflatable organ presentations provided an up-close view at the anatomy of the human brain, heart, and lungs.
In addition, there were 117 human medical specimens on display for visitors to examine and learn more about disease and injury. The nine glowing bodily parts were lighted by state-of-the-art technology, highlighting the importance of each in preserving health as a whole.
With 44 short film sessions devoted to health awareness and patient education, the festival made clear its dedication to teaching and storytelling. Participants left the workshops with useful knowledge that would help them make better decisions for their health.
Volunteers and medical professionals were singled out for special thanks by the Aarogya Nagri event’s organisers. They spoke about how important it was for programmes like this to spread health awareness and motivate people to make good changes in their daily habits.
On June 21, 2023, Aarogya Nagri was officially recognised as a new world record by the World Records Community’s Chief Editor, Dr. Mukul Soni, and Adjudicator, Mr. Jeet Trivedi. Asian record-holder in height and recipient of the Bharat Gaurav Award, Mr. Yashwant Raut, presented the certificate. By accomplishing such a significant goal, the festival has shown its leadership in the health and wellness industry on a worldwide scale and provided inspiration for similar community-led initiatives in the future.
