Narmada :  The Shaurya Jagran Yatra organized by the Bajrang Dal took a distressing turn as heavy stone-pelting incidents marred the event, leading to chaos and tension in Selamba village, Narmada district, on Friday. The situation escalated to such an extent that police had to resort to tear gas shells to disperse the unruly mob, leaving the village on edge.

The Bajrang Dal had orchestrated the Shaurya Jagran Yatra, commencing from Kuida village and culminating in Selamba, Narmada district. However, during the procession, some individuals with nefarious intentions began pelting stones at the yatris, creating an atmosphere of fear and apprehension. Members from the Muslim community were allegedly involved in the heavy stone pelting.

As tensions soared, the police intervened by deploying tear gas shells, bringing an abrupt halt to the yatra. The atmosphere in Selamba village remains charged, with authorities working diligently to maintain peace and order.

An additional layer of complexity emerged as a video featuring AAP MLA Chaitar Vasava addressing a police officer in Selamba went viral. In the video, Vasava claims that he had contacted the police the previous day, urging them to invite members from both communities in light of the Bajrang Dal’s yatra. He further alleges having warned the police officer about the potential risks to the yatra.

In the video, Vasava is seen directing the police officer to file a complaint against the organizers of the Shaurya Jagran Yatra, accusing them of disturbing communal peace and inciting members of the Muslim community.

The incident has sparked concerns about the fragile communal harmony in the region. Local authorities and community leaders are now working together to restore peace and ensure the safety of all residents. The police are actively investigating the stone-pelting incident and arson.
