New Delhi : The 12th convocation for the PGPM 2022-23 and PGDM 2021-22 classes just took place at Great Lakes Institute of Management in Gurgaon, one of the best management schools in India. The annual gala’s Chief Guest this year was ICICI Securities’ Managing Director, Mr. Vijay Chandok.
Today, 358 students graduated as part of the convocation programme. Among the graduating classes of PGPM 2022-23 and PGDM 2021-23, women made up 30% and 45% of the student bodies, respectively, and were awarded cash awards and gold medals for their outstanding achievements.

Mr. Moham Lakhamraju, Chairman of the Great Lakes Institute of Management, congratulated the graduates by saying, “One must grasp the significance of time. Use time to your advantage. Big things will occur if you give yourself the time to develop skill and perfect your craft. Think large since your efforts will add up over time. Take the long view. Believe in yourself and have trust that success will come in due time if you keep moving in the correct direction.
Managing Director of ICICI Securities Vijay Chandok emphasised the need of developing a solution-oriented mindset and putting it into practise, citing the company’s success over the previous three decades. He said, “You need to upgrade yourself with whatever is happening in the world, because innovation is critical to rescaling.” Challenges are like sharks, he remarked, emphasising their importance. Avoiding them is futile. Take them head on and handle them.
Dr. Debashis Sanyal, Director of Great Lakes Institute of Management in Gurgaon, presented the Director’s Report and discussed the institute’s recent achievements. Great Lakes Gurgaon, he said, was the first business school in India to provide analytics. The management school has recently signed memorandums of understanding with institutions in France (IESEG), Australia (Deakin University), Russia (Ural Federal University), and Morocco (EMAA Business School) to form international partnerships. In addition, he spoke about Lumiere, the semiannual online digital research symposium held in Gurgaon’s Great Lakes. It’s a forum where scholars from the field of management and related fields may share the results of their latest studies with an esteemed audience and get constructive criticism. In his speech to the graduates, Dr. Sanyal urged them to “carry forward the values ingrained in you by your family and our esteemed institution as you enter this new chapter.” Always aim high, never stop learning, and lead by example when it comes to honesty and morality.
As a part of the convocation ceremony, academic honors were announced for the meritorious students. The gold medalists of PGDM 2023 were Divij Verma and Anagha Venugopalan Kartha for being the Academic Topper and Best Outgoing Student respectively. The gold medalists of PGPM 2023 were Athira Vinod and Neha Makin for being the Academic Topper and Best Outgoing Student respectively.
The graduating class of the PGDM and PGPM witnessed an excellent placement season for Great Lakes, Gurgaon. Some of the leading companies that hired students were Deloitte, Cognizant, Bank of America, Virtusa, Accenture, KPMG, Wipro, Aditya Birla, and Salesforce. For PGDM batch, the highest domestic CTC offered was 21.5 lakhs p.a. & average was 11.6 lakhs p.a. while for the PGPM batch, highest domestic CTC offered was 33.3 lakhs p.a. and the average CTC was 15.8 lakhs p.a.
