Gandhinagar | Gujarat — Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel has announced that the upcoming Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conferences (VGRCs) will open a new chapter in the state’s growth story, spotlighting the unique industrial, economic, and cultural strengths of different regions of Gujarat. The initiative, guided by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, aims to translate Gujarat’s two-decade-long success with the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit into a more regional, sector-specific model of growth.

Speaking at a roadshow in New Delhi on Thursday, where he engaged with leading industrialists and trade body representatives, the Chief Minister underlined Gujarat’s role as India’s growth engine.

“Vibrant Gujarat has become a confluence of trade and tradition, commerce and culture, industry and entrepreneurship. With the inspiration of Prime Minister Modi, what began as an idea in 2003 has today made Gujarat the most preferred investment destination of the country,” Patel said.

From Global Summit to Regional Conferences

For two decades, the Vibrant Gujarat Global Investors Summit has attracted world leaders, Fortune 500 companies, and global investors, establishing Gujarat as one of the most industrialised and urbanised states in India. The Chief Minister said the next step is to bring the same vision to the regional level.

“The production and output of some regions in Gujarat are higher than the GDP of some states. The Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference will unlock new opportunities for investment in North Gujarat, South Gujarat, Central Gujarat and Saurashtra,” Patel explained.

The first VGRC will be held in North Gujarat on October 9–10, followed by similar events in the other three regions.

Industrial Parks and Mega Projects Driving Growth

Patel stressed that Gujarat’s future-ready mega projects and specialised industrial parks will play a central role in attracting investment through these conferences. He listed PM Mitra Park, Bulk Drug Park, Medical Device Park, and Agro Food Park as critical to sector-specific growth.

Projects like GIFT City, Dholera Special Investment Region, SEMICON India, Greenfield Ports, and Green Energy initiatives were also highlighted as the next big drivers of development.

“The Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conferences will give investors direct access to the regional ecosystem. This will not only benefit large industries but also empower local MSMEs and allied sectors,” the CM added.

Showcasing Local Strengths to Global Investors

Patel emphasised that trade shows, exhibitions, and sector-specific seminars during VGRCs will allow regional products to be showcased to national and international stakeholders.

“The theme ‘Regional Aspirations–Global Ambitions’ echoes the Prime Minister’s call for Local for Global, ensuring that Gujarat’s economic strength translates into India’s journey towards becoming a developed nation by 2047,” Patel said, expressing confidence that the initiative would help Gujarat achieve its target of becoming a $3.5 trillion economy by 2047.

Industry Support and Policy Backing

Industry representatives welcomed the announcement, noting Gujarat’s track record of policy support and investor-friendly governance.

Chief Secretary Pankaj Joshi, who was also present, pointed out that Gujarat has consistently ranked on top in the Business Reform Action Plan and Ease of Doing Business rankings by the Government of India.

“The Single Window Clearance Act, 2017 ensures more than 200 business approvals through a single platform within a fixed timeframe. Gujarat is ready to play a bigger role in India’s growth vision for 2047,” Joshi said.
