Ventura Airconnect's new hangar and aircraft maintenance facility at Surat airport are strategically positioned to support airline operations by providing crucial space for aircraft parking and maintenance
Surat : Surat International Airport has achieved a significant milestone with the inauguration of a cutting-edge aircraft maintenance service and hangar by Ventura Airconnect, a local airline founded by prominent diamond industry leaders. The facility, unveiled by Union Minister for Jal Shakti CR Paatil, marks a pivotal development in enhancing aviation capabilities at the bustling airport.
Ventura Airconnect’s new hangar and aircraft maintenance facility are strategically positioned to support airline operations by providing crucial space for aircraft parking and maintenance. Approved by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) as a Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) provider, Ventura Airconnect ensures stringent safety standards and airworthiness for all serviced aircraft.
Spanning an impressive 33,363 square feet, the hangar can accommodate up to 10 aircraft simultaneously, boasting a height of 41 feet capable of housing ATR aircrafts. This expansion comes as a testament to Surat’s growing prominence in regional air travel and logistical capabilities.
Founded in 2014 during a time when Surat lacked adequate air connectivity, Ventura Airconnect was spearheaded by influential figures such as Shri Ramkrishna Exports chairman Govind Dholakia, Shree Harikrishna Exports chairman Savji Dholakia, Dharmanandan Diamonds chairman Lalji Patel, and realtor Lavji Badshah. The airline initially connected Surat with Bhavnagar, Rajkot, and Ahmedabad, filling a crucial gap in regional air travel.
Celebrating its 10th anniversary, Ventura Airconnect’s new facilities symbolize a commitment to expanding service quality and operational efficiency. Equipped with state-of-the-art equipment and modern construction, the maintenance center is poised to attract aircraft from across India seeking reliable maintenance solutions.
The significance of this new facility extends beyond Surat’s borders. With major airports like Mumbai and Ahmedabad facing congestion issues, Surat’s enhanced maintenance capabilities offer a viable alternative for airlines nationwide. This development is expected to streamline operational efficiency and support the growing demand for air travel across western India.
Over the past decade, Ventura Airconnect has served approximately 200,000 passengers, connecting Surat with key destinations including Rajkot, Bhavnagar, Amreli, and Ahmedabad. The new hangar and maintenance facility represent a pivotal step towards bolstering regional connectivity and reinforcing Surat’s position as a dynamic hub in India’s aviation landscape.
