Vadodara, Gujarat – In a disturbing recurrence, Vadodara’s Navrachana School in the Sama area received a bomb threat via email early Monday morning, setting off panic among students, parents, and authorities. This marks the second threat in six months, reigniting concerns over campus security and cyber threats targeting educational institutions.
At around 9:00 am, the school administration received a chilling email warning of an imminent explosion. Within minutes, the school acted swiftly, alerting the police and evacuating all students and staff from the premises. By 9:15 am, students were sent home via school buses and private pickups, while the campus was cordoned off by police, bomb disposal units, and dog squads.
“We have experienced a similar threat earlier this year, and we are not taking any chances this time. All students were immediately moved to a safe zone, and the premises were handed over to security agencies for inspection,” stated a school spokesperson in a communication to parents.
Chaos and Concern Among Parents
As news of the threat spread, worried parents rushed to the school, some in tears, desperate for updates on their children’s safety. “This is the second time this has happened. Our kids are not safe even inside a school anymore,” said Mital Shah, whose daughter studies in Class 7. “The government must act against these criminals. This cannot go on.”
The Sama police, along with the bomb detection and disposal squad, conducted a thorough search of the school premises. Every classroom, corridor, and common area was sanitized, but no suspicious object or explosive device was found.
Similar Threat in January Raises Red Flags
This is not the first time Navrachana School has faced such terror. On January 24, the principal of the Bhayli branch, Kashmira Jaiswal, received a bomb threat through a dark web email, originating from a sender identified as Muppala Laxman alias Ganapathy using the address mail2tor.com. The email even mentioned the name of Dawoodi Shankar Jiwal, daughter of Tamil Nadu’s DGP, raising suspicions of a broader cyber-crime nexus.
The earlier incident led to a day-long inspection by bomb squads, yet no explosives were found. A formal complaint was filed, and police investigations were initiated, though no arrests have been confirmed yet. The cyber wing and central agencies are also believed to be monitoring the case.
