While launching the Gobar Se Samriddhi programme, Rupala said that both milk and cow dung are an integral part of our rural economy as well as the socio-cultural system. It is a matter of great pleasure that under the guidance of NDDB, NDDB Mrida Ltd and Sistema.bio, the Gobar Se Samriddhi programme is being launched today. Our farmers will get biogas plant by spending just six thousand rupees. The slurry processing plant will also provide additional income opportunities to farmers through organic fertilisers. I have full faith that this model of Kolhapur and Pune Milk Union will become an inspiration to other dairy cooperatives. NDDB’s manure value chain model will improve soil health and is a boon for rural women.

Shri Rupala appreciated NDDB and MDFVPL for implementing the first Shishu Sanjeevani programme in aspirational district of Gadchiroli. He said that NDDB-developed Shishu Sanjeevani is an energy dense fortified nutritional supplement expected to address the issue of malnutrition covering anganwadi children aged 04-06 years and the first manufacturing plant has been installed at Bhandara Dudh Sangh.

Shri Meenesh Shah said that NDDB has made continuous efforts for the last few years to promote biogas and develop dung-based manure management model. NDDB’s subsidiary NDDB MRIDA Ltd is promoting biogas along with efficient utilisation of slurry. NDDB Mrida Ltd’s initiatives will help farmers become independent of their cooking fuel needs and reduce their dependency on chemical fertilisers. This will also reduce global greenhouse gas emissions, promote sanitation at village level and lead us to the path of Swachh Bharat and Atmanirbhar Bharat.

Chairman, NDDB informed that NFN is launching the Shishu Sanjeevani programme in aspirational district of Gadchiroli under CSR of NDDB’s subsidiary MDFVPL. NDDB’s subsidiary IDMC Ltd has designed & customised the machine and equipment required for commercial production of the nutritional supplement Shishu Sanjeevani. The protein rich (18%) supplement provides about 200 Kcal of energy per serving, to be distributed five servings a week to anganwadi children.
