The UFBU, an umbrella body of 9 Bank unions  such as AIBEA, AIBOC, NCBE, AIBOA, BEFI, INBEF, INBOC, NOBW and NOBO, has been demanding five days banking, updation of pension, residual issues, scrapping of NPS, immediate resumption of negotiations on charter of demands for wage revision, adequate recruitment in all cadres etc.

Bandlish said all the bank employees across the country affiliated with UFBU will join in the strike for two days. The banks will remain closed for the general public.
