VadodaraIn a significant achievement for Vadodara Division, the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has awarded the prestigious ‘Eat Right Station’ certificate to Bharuch and Ankleshwar railway stations, along with the Divisional Railway Hospital. This recognition highlights the commitment to food safety and hygiene within the division.

The ‘Eat Right Station’ certification, granted by FSSAI, is a testament to the stringent adherence to food safety protocols at these locations. Pradeep Sharma, Senior Public Relations Officer of Vadodara Division, explained that achieving this certification involves a comprehensive process. It requires maintaining basic hygiene standards, training vendors in food handling, conducting thorough food sample checks, and auditing all procedures. The division collaborated closely with state authorities and independent agencies, such as the Food Safety Training and Certification (FoSTaC) Agency, to ensure compliance with these rigorous standards.

Vadodara Division’s commitment to ensuring safe and nutritious food for passengers has now been recognized with nine stations in total having received the ‘Eat Right Station’ certificate. The Divisional Railway Hospital, Vadodara, stands out as the first hospital on the Western Railway and across Indian Railways to receive this certification. This milestone underscores the hospital’s dedication to maintaining high standards of food safety and hygiene.

Jitendra Singh, Vadodara Divisional Railway Manager, emphasized the division’s focus on providing clean and healthy food to railway passengers. The Divisional Railway Hospital, with its three food establishments, has set a benchmark in food safety. The hospital’s kitchen, outsourced to ensure quality service, caters to inpatients, while an Amul Milk Parlor and Snack Bar, managed by the Western Railway Mahila Kalyan Sanstha, operate within the premises. All these establishments hold valid FSSAI licenses and registrations, and their vendors possess valid medical certificates, ensuring compliance with health regulations.

The ‘Eat Right Station’ certification not only enhances the credibility of these establishments but also boosts customer confidence. It signifies a commitment to public health by ensuring that the food served is both safe and nutritious. This initiative aligns with FSSAI’s primary goal of protecting and improving public health through the enforcement of food safety regulations.

The recognition of Bharuch and Ankleshwar stations, along with the Divisional Railway Hospital, reflects Vadodara Division’s ongoing efforts to prioritize food safety and hygiene. As more stations and establishments strive to meet these standards, passengers can look forward to a safer and more reliable dining experience during their travels.
