Yaksh Bhankodia and Yash Solanki, both residents of Ahmedabad, lost their lives when their outing to shoot a video reel turned fatal. The group, comprising more than ten friends, had gathered at the canal on Wednesday evening. Eyewitnesses recounted seeing the Scorpio lose control, plunging into the canal waters near Shastri Bridge towards Vishala.

Efforts to locate the missing Krish Dave have intensified, with his family anxiously awaiting news at the canal’s edge. Despite a comprehensive search operation conducted overnight by the fire brigade and local authorities, Krish Dave remains unaccounted for.

The incident has sparked widespread concern and reflection among local officials. Ellisbridge MLA Amit Shah, who visited the site, expressed condolences and pledged to propose enhanced safety measures along the canal to prevent future tragedies. “This incident underscores the need for better infrastructure and awareness around water bodies,” Shah remarked.

Saurabh Gupta, the owner of the Scorpio, revealed that the car had been taken for leisure purposes by a friend, but circumstances quickly turned tragic. “Speed was a factor, and the driver was inexperienced,” Gupta noted, highlighting the chaotic sequence of events leading to the accident.

Krish Dave’s uncle, Hiteshbhai Dave, described the family’s anguish upon learning of the accident. “We received the news late in the evening and have been here ever since, hoping for a miracle,” he said, surrounded by relatives and concerned community members.

Local authorities temporarily halted the canal’s water release to aid search efforts, allowing rescue teams to comb the reduced water levels throughout the night. Despite the challenges posed by darkness and treacherous conditions, rescuers remained steadfast in their mission to locate Krish Dave.
