Fire Engulfs Chemical Factory in Vapi GIDC

A fire broke out at Sanhi Chemicals, a chemical manufacturing unit located in the third phase of Vapi GIDC, on Wednesday. The presence of highly flammable chemicals accelerated the spread of the fire, engulfing the entire facility within minutes. Flames and thick smoke were visible from a considerable distance, causing panic among workers and nearby residents.

Fire brigades from Vapi Municipality, GIDC, Notified Area, Daman, and Silvassa rushed to the scene to combat the inferno. After three to four hours of relentless firefighting efforts, the blaze was brought under control. Fortunately, all employees evacuated safely, preventing any loss of life. However, authorities are yet to determine the exact cause of the fire.

This incident adds to the growing concerns over industrial fires in Gujarat, as such incidents tend to spike before March every year, raising suspicions of potential systemic issues or safety lapses.

Blast Triggers Fire in Borsara GIDC, Surat

A major fire broke out at a chemical company in Borsara GIDC, Mangrol, Surat, following a blast in drums filled with chemicals late on Tuesday night. The explosion sent shockwaves through the area, and the fire quickly spread across the factory premises.

The company’s tin-shed structure made it difficult for firefighters to contain the blaze, which rapidly consumed the packaging department. At least five to six fire engines were deployed to bring the situation under control.

While no injuries have been reported, authorities remain on high alert to prevent further damage. The cause of the explosion is still under investigation.

Plastic Barrel Manufacturing Unit Catches Fire in Jambusar

In yet another industrial fire, a massive blaze erupted at Time Mauser Industries Pvt Ltd, a plastic barrel manufacturing company near Jambusar in Bharuch, in the early hours of Wednesday. Firefighters from nearby industries, along with local fire teams, rushed to the scene to contain the fire, which also threatened a neighboring facility.

The fire spread rapidly due to the nature of the materials stored at the plant, but after hours of continuous efforts, emergency crews managed to douse the flames. Fortunately, no workers were injured in the incident.

Rising Concerns Over Industrial Safety

The recent string of fire accidents highlights the recurring issue of industrial safety in Gujarat. With chemical and manufacturing units operating in high-risk zones, authorities are urged to take stricter measures to prevent such incidents.
