Bharuch : A devastating road accident occurred early Wednesday morning near the Bakrol Bridge on National Highway No. 48, close to Ankleshwar. A Mumbai-based family returning from Ajmer after celebrating Urs faced a horrific collision when their Ertiga car was hit from behind by a speeding vehicle. The impact pushed their car into a truck ahead, resulting in a tragic loss of lives and leaving others critically injured.

The family from Palghar, Mumbai, had embarked on a pilgrimage to Ajmer on January 6 to celebrate Urs. While heading back home, their journey took a tragic turn near the Bakrol Bridge. A vehicle traveling at high speed rear-ended their Ertiga car, causing it to ram into a truck moving in front. The Ertiga was sandwiched between the two vehicles, leading to catastrophic damage.

Three family members—Tahir Sheikh (32), Aryan Chogle (23), and Mudasaran Jat (25)—lost their lives instantly. The remaining four passengers suffered severe injuries and were promptly rescued by emergency services.

The Panoli police, along with a team from the fire department, a crane, and an ambulance, arrived at the scene. The injured were initially rushed to Bharuch Civil Hospital for medical treatment. Later, they were transferred to a private hospital in Bharuch for advanced care.

The accident led to a massive traffic jam on the busy highway, causing inconvenience to commuters. The Panoli police have since taken charge of the situation, clearing the road and initiating an investigation to determine the exact cause of the accident.

The deceased—Tahir Sheikh, Aryan Chogle, and Mudasaran Jat—leave behind grieving family members and friends. Their untimely demise has sent shockwaves through their community in Palghar, Mumbai.

The four injured family members are currently receiving treatment at a private hospital. Their condition remains critical but stable as doctors continue to monitor their recovery closely.

This tragic incident highlights the persistent dangers on Indian highways. Reckless driving, overspeeding, and lack of adherence to safety norms continue to pose significant risks to travelers.
