Surat : His teeth are more powerful than pliers. He can de-husk dry coconuts in 4-7 seconds with his teeth. Meet Laxman Purohit, 40, a hardware store owner in Navsari who has become a heartthrob for his unique feat of de-husking coconuts with his teeth.

Dry coconuts are typically de-husked with pliers and screwdrivers, and the husk is peeled with the hands. Laxman de-husks the conconuts without the use of pliers or screwdrivers. He de-husks the coconut in 4-7 seconds with his iron-strong teeth.

Navsari hosts an annual event during the Holi festival in which participants must demonstrate their unique skills and challenge their opponents. For many years, Laxman has not found a single challenger to his record of dehusking the coconut in 4-7 seconds.

“I have excelled in the art for many years,” Laxman Purohit told The Blunt Times. Because I work in the furniture hardware industry, I always go out of my way to impress my customers. Why not de-husk coconuts with my teeth? I tried one and it worked. Since then, there has been no turning back.”
