Taal Group celebrates International Women’s Day with Nayika-2.0 She Matters

Surat : The Surat-based Taal Group and CIOFF India celebrated International Women’s Day by organising a folk dance performance titled ‘Nayika—2.0 She Matters’ at the Amphi theatre at Science Centre on the City Light Road on March 5.

Taal Group students performed a folk dance on the theme of the ‘Holi’ festival, and renowned Bharat Natyam performer Rukmini Vijaykumar performed live at the Amphi theatre.

Gujarat BJP president CR Paatil, Gujarat Home Minister Harsh Sanghavi, Surat Mayor Hemali Boghawala, and Standing Committee Chairman Paresh Patel all attended the Taal Group event.

Women who have done exceptional and unique work in their fields were honoured at the Nayika—2.0 She Matters event by CR Paatil and Harsh Sanghavi.

The event’s performers wore Vinay-Valay sarees and were adorned with Kantilal Jewellers jewellery. The event also honoured mothers on stage by VAMA, a well-known medical organisation.

Krutika Shah, an architect by trade, founded Taal Group. Taal Group has performed Indian folk dance in eight different countries to promote Indian culture around the world. In addition, Taal Group proposed organising an International Folk Festival in Surat.
