Swarrnim University organise Orientation for new batch

Gandhinagar : Swarrnim Startup & Innovation University recently hosted a three-day orientation program for the incoming BCA and BSc-IT Honors students from July 30 to August 1, 2024. Held at the Seminar Hall, the event saw participation of some 90 incoming students from various branches.

As part of the programme, the students were introduced to university life, academic expectations, and the community. Speakers, including deans and faculty members from the University, Dr Kavita Kshatriya, Dr Shashikant Bhagat along with guest speaker, Mr Chandan Chandwani from Tech Mahindra, shared valuable insights with the students.

The programme covered an array of topics, ranging from academic overviews and faculty introductions to industry insights and extracurricular opportunities.

The event saw a series of informative and engaging sessions. The second day began with faculty introductions moderated by Deepti Priyadarshini. Dr Chetan Gondaliya gave a detailed presentation on the Center of Excellence (CoE) and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP). Professor Vikas Chandra Sharma provided a detailed overview of the curriculum, syllabus, and examination policies and the anti-ragging policy. This was followed by Professor Vipul Patel’s briefing on various committees and clubs, encouraging student involvement. The day concluded with interactive activities, including open mic sessions, fostering student engagement and participation.

On the third day, Mr Chandan Chandwani from Tech Mahindra shared insightful inputs during his expert lecture. That apart, the event also saw a potluck of students and faculty members, with a view to promote inclusivity on campus.

Students were also given a campus tour showcasing facilities like Apple and IT labs.

All in all, the program emphasised on safety, inclusivity, and well-being of students. Students also participated in a Heartfulness meditation session which is being widely promoted by the university.
