SURAT :Young environmental ambassadors from Navchetan Adani Vidyalaya, Junagam (Shivrampur) marked Tapi Pragatya Divas with a powerful message of river conservation and environmental responsibility. Students and teachers visited the banks of the Tapi River at Hazira and paid tribute to Tapi Maiya while highlighting the need to protect the lifeline of South Gujarat.

Before the visit, teachers conducted an awareness session explaining the geographical importance of the Tapi River, rising pollution concerns and the importance of river conservation.

“Understanding nature is the first step towards protecting it. Students must become responsible citizens who care for rivers and the environment,” teachers said during the programme.

Following the session, students actively participated in a cleanliness drive along the riverbank. They also organised a silent rally carrying self-made posters promoting a plastic-free Tapi River and spreading awareness among local residents, motorists and pedestrians.

Officials from Hazira Police Station attended the event and appreciated the efforts of the students.

At the conclusion of the programme, students, teachers and participants took a collective pledge to keep the Tapi River clean, avoid single-use plastic and protect natural resources.

The initiative by Navchetan Adani Vidyalaya not only created environmental awareness among students but also delivered a strong conservation message to the wider community.
