Surat | Gujarat — In yet another shocking incident of reckless behavior, Surat city woke up to the terror of “spoilt brats” on wheels. A viral video showing four youths racing luxury cars and bursting firecrackers from a moving vehicle on a public road in Adajan has sparked outrage across Gujarat.

The video, which quickly spread across social media platforms, shows an Audi, Range Rover, Skoda, and another Audi racing through the city streets late at night. One of the youths, in a shocking act of disregard for public safety, was seen standing half out of a sunroof while bursting firecrackers from the moving car — turning a busy city road into a dangerous playground.

Viral Video Prompts Swift Police Action

As soon as the video reached the notice of Surat Police, they acted with precision and speed. Within hours, police traced the number plates of the cars visible in the footage and identified the culprits. The four arrested youths were named as Syed Faizan Wajid (24), Mohammad Mansoor Khanda (19), Amar Afroz Memon (20) and Maroof Ilyaz Faniwala (18) — all reportedly sons of prominent businessmen in Surat.

Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Adajan Division said,“Such reckless acts put lives at risk. No one, regardless of family background, is above the law. We have arrested the accused and seized their vehicles. Strict action will follow.”

Luxury Cars Seized, Confession Recorded

The police not only arrested the four but also seized all four luxury cars involved in the stunt — including two Audis, one Range Rover, and one Skoda. Investigations revealed that the youths were students who had gone out for dinner and later decided to “celebrate” by performing stunts on the road.

Their actions, however, could have led to a major tragedy.

“They confessed to bursting crackers in a running car and realized how their act endangered others,” a senior police officer said. “We hope this serves as a lesson to all youngsters who mistake the roads for racetracks.”

Public Anger and Police Vigilance

The video has triggered widespread criticism on social media, with citizens demanding stricter enforcement of traffic and safety laws. Many have also called for mandatory counseling and community service for such offenders.

A local resident of Adajan commented,“Every few weeks, we see expensive cars racing recklessly. It’s high time authorities clamp down on this before innocent lives are lost.”
