Surat : Surat, often hailed as the epicenter of man-made fabric (MMF) textiles in India, has taken on an extraordinary patriotic task as the nation gears up to celebrate its 76th Independence Day.

The city is fervently manufacturing more than 10 lakh Indian tricolors each day, all set to be dispatched to every nook and corner of the country through the diligent efforts of the Postal Department.

The Ministry of Textiles, recognizing Surat’s prowess in the textile industry, has specifically urged the textile entrepreneurs in the city to rise to the occasion and contribute to the monumental task of creating about 1 crore Indian tricolors. These tricolors will be distributed nationwide, adding to the patriotic fervor that surrounds the annual Independence Day celebrations.

Following a successful endeavor last year, the Postal Department has once again stepped up to the plate by participating in the door-to-door delivery of the Indian tricolors, ensuring that every household receives this emblem of national pride before the historic day.

With a meticulous operation in place, the Post Department of Surat is dispatching 10 lakh tricolors to various states across the country on a daily basis. This concerted effort ensures that the tricolors reach every corner of the nation, contributing to a nationwide display of enthusiasm and unity during the Independence Day celebrations.

Industrial zones such as Pandesara, Sachin, and Ichapore in Surat are buzzing with activity as lakhs of tricolors are being meticulously prepared by skilled workers.

Sanjay Mistry, Deputy Superintendent of Surat Division of the Post Department, emphasized that the tricolors are being produced in adherence to the standards set by the Union Ministry of Textiles. The government has entrusted the crucial task of packing and delivering these tricolors to the capable hands of the Post Department, enabling the seamless distribution of tricolors across the nation.

People across the country can obtain these tricolors from local post offices. To facilitate this, the tricolors are being efficiently packed and transported to various states by train. Over 10 lakh tricolors are dispatched daily, with the dedicated employees of the Surat Post Department working tirelessly to ensure that this patriotic endeavor is a resounding success.
