Residents rushed to the spot after hearing the commotion. The mother and child were found lying in front of the society’s Ganesha idol. An ambulance was called immediately, and both were rushed to Surat Civil Hospital, where doctors declared them dead on arrival.

“The fall from such a height left them critically injured. Despite immediate medical intervention, they could not be saved,” a hospital source confirmed.
