A huge monitoring screen has been installed in the Chief Fire Officer’s (CFO) office for direct monitoring of the activities at the city’s fire stations. The CFO would be able to gather information on whether fire tenders are working efficiently during a fire emergency, keep an eye on illegal activities at the fire station, direct monitoring of the mock drill exercise, monitoring of senior officials and fire staff, and eliminating the evils of liquor, gambling, and other illegal activities at fire stations.
“Around 100 CCTV cameras are being installed at 17 fire stations across the city,” said Basant Parek, CFO. The CCTV will provide real-time analysis of fire activity at the stations, monitoring of officials and fire personnel, rapid response during a fire emergency, and reducing the threat of liquor, gutkha, gambling, and other illegal activities at the stations.”
