Surat : In a reaffirmation of his commitment, Union Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia assured the Surat Diamond Bourse (SDB) delegation of two forthcoming international flights.

The meeting, held in New Delhi on Tuesday, saw the delegation extending an invitation for the inauguration ceremony, graced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on December 17.

The Surat Diamond Bourse has witnessed a rapid surge in activity, with over 135 diamond companies, including Kiran Gems, commencing operations since November 21. Ahead of the official inauguration by Prime Minister Modi, these companies have hit the ground running, initiating their trading activities.

A delegation led by Surat Diamond Bourse President Nagjibhai Sakaria, Laljibhai Ugamedi, Mathurbhai Savani, Asheshbhai Doshi, and other key figures visited New Delhi to extend invitations for the ceremony to Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and Union Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia.

Chairman Vallabhbhai Patel’s company, Kiran Gems, announced an attractive incentive: a 2 percent discount for brokers and traders visiting their office for diamond trading. Other firms within the bourse have followed suit, rolling out appealing offers in the diamond market.

The response has been remarkable, drawing brokers and traders from major hubs like Mumbai, Ahmedabad, and Rajkot to the Surat Diamond Bourse, infusing the market with increased activity and trade opportunities.

The proactive start by these diamond companies ahead of the official inauguration has set an encouraging tone for the Surat Diamond Bourse. This early momentum showcases the industry’s eagerness and excitement surrounding the upcoming ceremony on December 17.
