Surat-born Yogi Patel selected as youngest councilman candidate in Los Angeles by Republicans

Surat : Yogi Patel, 41, a leading realtor, hotelier, and philanthropist in the United States (US), has brought honour to the diamond city of Surat by becoming the Republican Party’s youngest Indian-American council member or councilman on the Los Angeles City Council in the United States (US).

Yogi Patel, a Surat native, has been chosen as the Republic Party’s candidate from Artesia City in Los Angeles for the position of councilman on the Los Angeles City Council in the United States. Yogi’s selection comes at a critical time, as Indian-American Nikki Haley is running for President of the United States as a Republican Party candidate.

The appointment of Yogi Patel as the Republican Party candidate for the upcoming council elections between July and November 2023 makes Indian-Americans in LA and North America proud. The Republican Party will officially announce Yogi Patel’s name as the party’s candidate in June 2023.

Yogi Patel, a realtor, is the president of the Indo-American Cultural Society of North America and the founder of the two original Gujarati Lebanon Hospitality Groups. Yogi works in the hotel industry and is involved in other organisations.

Yogi Patel comes from a textile entrepreneur family in Surat. Yogi’s father was a power loom weaver, and his entire family dealt in polyester fabric. He (Yogi) had no desire to settle in the United States, but fate had other plans for him. He first went to London to study at his uncle’s house, but returned within a year.

Yogi Patel’s uncle, CK Patel, a well-known lawyer in Anand, Gujarat, insisted that he visit the United States. Yogi’s brother took over a hotel in Los Angeles and wanted Yogi to run it. This marked a watershed moment in Yogi’s career as a successful realtor and hotelier. Yogi learned the trade in two years and went on to take on hotel and motel projects throughout LA and North America.

Yogi Patel, who lives in Arsetia with his children and wife—Rushi (21), Shruja (17), and his wife Shital Patel—runs a hotel, real estate, and management company called Lebanon Hospitality Group. He also serves as the president of the Indo-American Cultural Society of North America.

Yogi Patel organises social, religious, and national programmes every year.During coronavirus pandemic, Yogi organised food and vaccination camps with various organisations during his tenure.

Yogi Patel, a Diploma Chemical Engineer, has already received recognition from a number of American organisations. He co-chairs the Cerritos College Foundation and is the director of Orange County Cancer Research in Los Angeles.

“It is a great honour for me that the Republican Party chose me as the councilman candidate from Artesia,” said Yogi Patel, who is in Surat to visit his mother, Umaben Patel, who lives in Hans Society in Varachha, Surat. “I am involved in a variety of humanitarian, social, and other activities in Los Angeles and throughout North America. People in Los Angeles support the Republican Party, and they will vote for us to ensure Nikki Haley becomes the next President of the United States.”
