Surat : Angel Gameti Earns Black Belt & National Karate Medals
A student of Class 9 at Lourdes Convent School in Surat, Angel earned the honor at the First Japan Karate Association (JKA) India Invitational International Karate Tournament 2025, held recently in Hyderabad.

Surat, Gujarat — Surat’s young martial artist Angel Divyeshkumar Gameti has made the city proud by achieving the prestigious Black Belt (SHO 1st Dan) in Karate. A student of Class 9 at Lourdes Convent School, Angel earned the honor at the First Japan Karate Association (JKA) India Invitational International Karate Tournament 2025, held recently in Hyderabad.
In a remarkable display of skill and discipline, Angel also clinched a silver medal in Kata and bronze in Kumite in the under-14 category at the same event. She has also represented India at the international level, underlining her status as a rising star in Indian martial arts.
Angel’s journey in Karate began a decade ago, and in those 10 years, she has bagged an impressive 19 medals—including 6 Gold, 8 Silver, and 5 Bronze—across district, state, zonal, and national tournaments.
Speaking about her daughter’s achievement, her parents Ankita and Divyesh Gameti said, “Angel’s hard work and unwavering dedication have finally paid off. We are proud of how far she has come.”
Angel attributes her success to her coaches Hitesh Jariwala and Chhaya Kolipak, who have guided her throughout. “This Black Belt is not the end, but a new beginning,” said Angel. “I want to keep representing India and aim for the World Championship.”
