Surat : 16-Month-Old Toddler Found Dead in Water-Filled Pit At Pradhanmantri Awas Project

The deceased toddler, identified as 16-month-old Lav Kumar, was found in the water-filled pit approximately two hours after he had gone missing earlier that morning. Lav Kumar's father recounted that both parents were engaged in work at the construction site when the distressing incident transpired. Surat : A heart-wrenching incident unfolded at the construction site of the Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) housing project under the Pradhanmantri Awas Yojana in Surat’s Dindoli area, where the lifeless body of a 16-month-old child was discovered in a water-filled pit on Friday. The tragic incident occurred when the young child accidentally fell into the water-filled ditch while at play.

The deceased toddler, identified as 16-month-old Lav Kumar, was found in the water-filled pit approximately two hours after he had gone missing earlier that morning. Lav Kumar’s father recounted that both parents were engaged in work at the construction site when the distressing incident transpired. Narrating the devastating episode, Kantaprasad Janagela, the father of the deceased, mentioned that they hailed from Chattisgarh and had been employed as construction laborers for the past three months at the EWS housing project sanctioned under the Pradhanmantri Awas Yojana in Dindoli, Surat.

Despite immediate efforts to rescue Lav Kumar, his body was eventually found in the water-filled pit and promptly transported to a nearby hospital. Tragically, despite medical attention, the child was declared deceased upon arrival at the hospital. Among three siblings, Lav Kumar was the third child, and both parents were occupied with their work responsibilities when the incident occurred.
