Goldie Solar Private Limited, a subsidiary of SRK, is engaged in the manufacturing of rooftop solar panels. Rooftop solar panels can cost upwards of Rs 1 lakh, therefore to qualify for government rebates, diamond employees will need to pay monthly installments.
The Rooftop Solar panels were distributed at the hands of Mangubhai Patel, governor of Madhya Pradesh and Union Minister of State for Railways and Textiles Darshana Jardosh at the SRK Farms in Katargam on Thursday.
“We are dedicated to encouraging sustainability and environmental consciousness among the community and our staff,” Govind Dholakia (also known as Govind Kaka), founder and chairman of SRK, remarked. Everyone who works here is treated like family. The company decided to give the diamond workers a present of rooftop solar panels in celebration of Diwali. Since solar panels have a 25-year lifespan, the diamond industry workers will not have to worry about their electricity costs for the foreseeable future.
Dholakia elaborated, saying, “SRK is a purpose-driven company and has always led by giving back to society and the environment.” Because of this way of thinking, SRK has earned a place among the most reputable companies in the world. We couldn’t have done it without the help of everyone in our team.
Jayanti Narola, an entrepreneur at SRK said, “SRK is committed to cultivating a culture that values the health and wellbeing of our family members and the environment,”. “As we celebrate Diwali this year, we are proud to recognize the accomplishments of our employees and to help them lead healthier and more sustainable lives.”
In August, SRK Knowledge Foundation (SRKKF), the philanthropic arm of SRK Exports installed solar rooftops at the homes of 750 martyred soldiers and unsung heroes. Govindkaka’s home village Dudhala has also been powered 100% by solar energy.
Initiatives such as these align with Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi’s Solar Rooftop Yojana and are part of SRK’s commitment to becoming a worldwide leader in ESG.
Earlier this month, in partnership with the Global Network for Zero, the company took bold steps in cementing this leadership when they pledged to reach net zero emissions for two of their diamond crafting facilities by 2024, six years earlier than India’s 2030 goals.
