New Delhi [India], August 12: In a world where women often find themselves balancing family responsibilities, professional commitments, education, and personal aspirations, Sharad Mishra’s journey stands as a powerful reminder that one does not have to choose between them. A single mother of two boys, an HR professional working in the US healthcare sector, and a PhD research scholar, Sharad has built her journey around resilience, determination, and the belief that personal dreams deserve to be pursued at every stage of life. Her journey to the Mrs India platform was never simply about winning a crown. For Sharad, it represented something far more meaningful—a personal challenge, an expression of self-belief, and an opportunity to inspire women who may have forgotten to prioritize their own aspirations while fulfilling their responsibilities toward others. Sharad’s life reflects the reality of many women who manage multiple roles simultaneously. Motherhood has been an important part of her identity, while her professional career and academic journey have continued to shape her growth. Instead of viewing these responsibilities as limitations, she chose to see them as sources of strength and motivation. Speaking about her journey, Sharad Mishra believes that life should not force women to choose between their responsibilities and their dreams. Her approach has been to embrace every role with commitment while continuing to make space for her own ambitions. Her decision to participate in the Mrs India platform came from this very belief. The experience allowed her to step beyond her established professional and personal roles and explore another side of herself. More importantly, it gave her an opportunity to represent women who constantly give their time and energy to their families and careers but sometimes hesitate to pursue dreams of their own. For Sharad, standing on the Mrs India platform was therefore symbolic. It represented the courage to step outside her comfort zone and prove that aspirations do not come with an expiry date. “I wanted to prove to myself and to every woman who may have ever doubted her own potential that it is never too late to believe in yourself and pursue your dreams,” says Sharad Mishra. Her journey also highlights the importance of self-belief. According to Sharad, women frequently become so focused on meeting expectations and responsibilities that they may unintentionally put their own dreams on hold. She hopes her story can encourage women to recognize their individuality and understand that pursuing personal ambitions is not a rejection of their responsibilities. As an HR professional in the US healthcare sector, Sharad has developed a strong understanding of people, professional environments, and the importance of perseverance. Her academic pursuit as a PhD research scholar further reflects her commitment to continuous learning and personal development. Balancing these different aspects of life has required discipline, hard work, and determination. Yet, Sharad believes that challenges should not become reasons to abandon one’s aspirations. Instead, they can become opportunities to discover inner strength. Her journey also carries a meaningful message for her two sons. By continuing to pursue her professional, academic, and personal goals, Sharad hopes to demonstrate the importance of courage and persistence. Her story reflects the idea that children can learn not only from what their parents say but also from what they see them accomplish through dedication. Sharad’s message to women is simple yet powerful: circumstances may influence the journey, but they do not have to define the destination. She encourages women to dream fearlessly, work relentlessly, embrace their individuality, and reject the belief that success must happen according to a predetermined timeline. Whether someone is beginning a career, returning to education, building a business, raising children, or discovering a new ambition later in life, there is always an opportunity to take the next step.
For Sharad, success is not defined solely by a crown or a title. The greater achievement lies in having the courage to believe in oneself and continue moving forward despite challenges. Her Mrs India journey is therefore more than a personal milestone. It is a message of hope for women who are balancing multiple responsibilities while quietly carrying dreams of their own. “If my journey can inspire even one woman to say, ‘If she can do it, so can I,’ then every step of my journey has been worth it,” Sharad says. Through her story, Sharad Mishra hopes to remind women that there is no fixed age, stage, or timeline for success. Dreams can evolve, ambitions can return, and new possibilities can emerge at any point in life. What matters most is having the courage to believe that they are still possible—and the determination to pursue them. Instagram as @sharad.m_official.
