Surat : The Southern Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SGCCI), in collaboration with the Southern Gujarat Chamber Trade and Industries Development Center and the Surat Techmac Federation, has organized a three-day Surat International Textile Expo (SITEX 2024), which will take place at the Surat International Exhibition and Convention Center in Sarasana beginning July 20.

SGCCI President Vijay Mewawala stated that the 10th edition of the SITEX show will feature machinery from the entire textile sector. The chamber’s ambitious exhibition aims to provide a fresh direction and energy to the city’s textile sector globally. This exposition of textile technology and machinery directly aids Surat’s burgeoning textile industry. SITEX will be a significant step towards a truly developed India by 2047, enhancing productivity and producing large-scale employment.

Textile Machinery, Textile Ancillary and Machinery, Technical Textile Machinery, Airjet Looms, Water Jet Looms, Rapier Looms, Electronic Jacquard, Dobby Machine, Velvet Weaving Machine, Circular Knitting, Yarn Dyeing, Warping Machine, Digital Printing Machinery, and Position Printing are all on display. Machines, diverse printing inks, sewing machines, fusing machines, and a wide range of machinery and accessories will be on display.

The expo would span 1.30 lakh square feet at the Surat International expo and Convention Centre in Sarasana. Textile machinery and accessories manufacturers will display their most sophisticated technology machinery in the Pillarless AC Dome, with over 50 exhibitors.

A mono mother yarn split warping machine worth Rs 1.20 crore will also be displayed at the STEX exhibition.

Textile machinery is becoming more technologically advanced. So far, machines with speeds ranging from 1100 to 1200 rpm have been presented at several Indian shows, while a machine with a speed of 1600 rpm will be displayed in Airjet.

According to Mukesh Patel, president of the Surat Techmac Federation, the exhibition’s main attractions would be airjet, water jet, mono spatting machines, and digital printing machines. Air jet machines produce 7 to 8 times more than conventional looms. Whereas a water jet machine produces 6 to 7 times more. Four years ago, digital printing machines could generate 1,000 meters in 24 hours; today, the digital printing machines on display at the exhibition can produce 6,000 meters in 24 hours. This machine can produce five times more.

According to Nikhil Madrasi, Vice President of SGCCI, the SITEX expo will be launched by Pabitra Margherita, Minister of Textile.Additional Textile Commissioner SP Verma will be present as a special guest.

Madrasi stated that the latest model of airjet and waterjet machinery manufactured in India will be displayed during the CTEX exhibition. The majority of airjet machines are cotton-based, although viscose and polyester airjet machines will also be displayed at the exhibition. This gear can also handle different yarns, resulting in a production efficiency of 95 to 96 percent.
