SGCCI to inaugurate 7th edition of Yarn Expo 2025 in Surat

Surat, Gujarat — The Southern Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SGCCI) and Southern Gujarat Chamber Trade and Industries Development Center have jointly organized the three-day long 7th edition of ‘Yarn Expo-2025’ at the Surat International Exhibition and Convention Center, Sarsan starting from August 1 

SGCCI president Nikhil Madrasi said that this exhibition is being organized by the  SGCCI with the aim of accelerating the development of the textile industry of Surat and providing information about the latest technology regarding yarn production to the industrialists. About 92 exhibitors are participating in the Yarn Expo. Apart from Surat, exhibitors from Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Navsari, Mumbai, Erode, Coimbatore, Hoogly (West Bengal), Ludhiana (Punjab), Bangalore, Silvassa, Panipat (Haryana), Kolkata, Namkhal (Tamil Nadu), Rajkot, Gir Somnath, Daman, Bharuch, Chennai, Raipur (Chhattisgarh) and Nagpur are participating in the exhibition.

This year will see the 7th edition of the SGCCI’s  Yarn Expo, in which yarn manufacturers from across the country will come together on one platform and showcase all varieties of yarn. This exhibition will showcase silver zari and gold zari, tensile yarn, cotton, N silk, lyocell, zinc linen, carbon fiber, moisture management, bio-degradable, hemp yarn, and anti-microbial yarn. N silk and lyocell yarn are used to replace silk in textile production. Carbon fiber yarn and bio-degradable yarn are used in technical textiles. Anti-microbial yarn is used in the production of medical textiles. Apart from this, this yarn is used in sportswear, technical textiles and medical textiles. This yarn is also used to make export-oriented clothes.

SGCCI vice-president Ashok Jirawala said the Yarn Expo will be inaugurated on August 1 where J Raghunath, Senior Vice President, Reliance Industries Limited, Satyaki Ghosh, CEO, Fashion Yarn Business, Grasim Industries Limited, Dr. S.N. Modani, Vice Chairman, Sangam India Limited and Durai Palanisamy, Executive Director, Pallava Group will remain present as the chief guests.

The yarn exhibition will be visited by genuine buyers and visitors from various states and cities across the country like Erode, Echalkaranji, Tirupur, Tamil Nadu, Coimbatore, Haryana, Hyderabad, Panipat, Varanasi, Warangal, Ludhiana, Indore, Amravati, Bangalore etc. Weavers, knitters, industry leaders and entrepreneurs will visit the exhibition. As manufacturers and buyers of various yarns come together on a single platform under one roof, business meetings will also be held between them.

The exhibitors will showcase products like cotton, polyester, wool, silk, linen, viscose, ramie and spandex, showcasing the changes and developments in natural and man-made fabrics. 100 percent polyester textured yarn, dope dyed polyester yarn, recycled polyester yarn, zero polyester yarn, mélange yarn, ketonic yarn, air textured yarn, slub yarn, cotton look polyester yarn, cotton feel polyester yarn, fancy polyester yarn, inherent fire retardant yarn and inherent anti-bacterial yarn, etc., used to make special fabrics, will be exhibited.

Apart from this, various specialty fibers like elastic, metallic, embroidery, textured, slub, dope dyed spun, low torque and fancy mélange will also be seen. Representatives of the business industry of South Gujarat will be present at this exhibition. It is expected that more than 25,000 buyers and visitors will visit the exhibition.

Girdhargopal Mundada, Chairman of Yarn Expo-2025, said that in today’s era, garments made from expensive fabrics like pure silk, wool, linen have become rare for the common people, while yarns like polyester and ketonic have emerged as the best option. The use of various types of polyester yarns such as trilobal bright, full dull, recycled, dope dyed, flame retardant, lycra blended, mechanical stretch yarn, airtex yarn, bio component yarn and functional yarn has expanded not only to garments but also to furnishing, automobile, medical textiles and decorative fabrics.
