The District Education Officer (DEO) has announced holiday in the school located in Surat city and district on Wednesday. All the school administrations in the district have been communicated to announce holiday for Wednesday due to  heavy to heavy rain forecast in Surat.

North and Central Gujarat, on the other hand, continue to hunger for rainfall. The Meteorological Department forecast extremely heavy rains in Saurashtra-Kutch and South Gujarat. Rajkot, Devbhoomi Dwarka, Porbandar, Junagadh, Gir Somnath, and Kutch have all been issued a red alert, while Ahmedabad is experiencing heavy rain.

The Meteorological Department reported 17% rainfall in north and central Gujarat as of Monday.  Saurashtra and Kutch, on the other hand, have received approximately 52% of the season’s rainfall as of July 22. It is worth noting that north and central Gujarat were supposed to receive an average of 14.5 inches of rain between June 1 and July 22, but have received 17% less rain thus far.

Thunderstorms and heavy winds are expected to hit coastal areas during the next five days, and fisherman are urged not to venture out into the sea. Furthermore, wind speeds of 45 to 55 km/h are expected in coastal locations. Today, a red alert was issued in the districts of Saurashtra-Kutch and South Gujarat, warning of the risk of heavy rain.

The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow signal for the Ahmedabad area on July 23, with heavy rain expected.  The Meteorological Department in Ahmedabad district has issued an alert over the last two days. According to them, it only rains in some sections of Ahmedabad district near Bhavnagar.
