It is worth noting that north and central Gujarat were supposed to receive an average of 14.5 inches of rain between June 1 and July 22, but have received 17% less rain thus far.

Thunderstorms and heavy winds are expected to hit coastal areas during the next five days, and fisherman are urged not to venture out into the sea. Furthermore, wind speeds of 45 to 55 km/h are expected in coastal locations. Today, a red alert was issued in the districts of Saurashtra-Kutch and South Gujarat, warning of the risk of heavy rain.
