Surat | Gujarat — As consumer demand for ethical, transparent and certified food products continues to rise worldwide, industry experts, food brands and business leaders gathered in Surat on Sunday to explore emerging opportunities in the vegetarian, vegan and Jain food sectors at SATCON Regional 2026.

Organised by Sattvik Certifications in association with the Southern Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SGCCI) and TiE Surat, the flagship conference was held at the Surat Marriott Hotel in Athwa Lines. The event was led by Abhishek Biswas, Founder of Sattvik Certifications, with a focus on promoting awareness about vegetarian, vegan and Jain dietary standards while encouraging transparency and responsible business practices across the food industry.

The conference attracted participation from leading food brands, hospitality professionals, entrepreneurs and government representatives. Companies including Goldiee Masala, Lakshmi International Foods, Century Group, Aroma Affair International and Deloitte were among those represented at the event.

Addressing the gathering, industry experts highlighted the rapidly expanding global market for vegetarian and Jain-certified products and stressed the growing importance of credible certification systems in building consumer trust.

“The global demand for vegetarian and Jain products is increasing steadily, making certification a critical tool for ensuring transparency, food safety and consumer confidence,” speakers at the conference noted.

Discussions during the seminar focused on strengthening food safety and quality standards, promoting sustainable food systems, enhancing ethical business practices, and creating export opportunities for Indian brands seeking access to international markets.

Participants also explored how businesses can leverage India’s rich vegetarian traditions to build globally recognised brands while maintaining authenticity and consumer trust.

Annu Kadian, Operations Head of Sattvik Certifications, and Rakesh Trivedi, State Coordinator for Gujarat, said Gujarat’s strong entrepreneurial culture and deep-rooted vegetarian heritage make it an ideal destination for such industry-focused discussions.

“Gujarat’s entrepreneurial ecosystem and rich vegetarian culture provide the perfect platform for advancing certification awareness. Events like SATCON can help local food and hospitality businesses become globally competitive while creating valuable networking and business opportunities,” they said.

With global consumers increasingly seeking certified, ethical and sustainable food choices, SATCON 2026 underscored the growing role of certification in helping Indian businesses expand their footprint in international markets while strengthening consumer confidence at home.
