Rajkot | Gujarat — In a shocking incident that marred Diwali celebrations, a triple murder in Rajkot late on Kali Chaudash night has created panic in the Ambedkarnagar area. What began as a minor argument over a vehicle collision turned into a brutal group clash, claiming the lives of two brothers — Suresh Washram Parmar (45) and Vijay Washram Parmar (40) — and a youth from the opposing side, Arun Vinubhai Barot.
Police officials, including DCP Crime Jagdish Bangarwa, ACP B.J. Chaudhary, and Malviyanagar Police, reached the scene to investigate the triple murder incident in Rajkot.
Clash over a trivial matter turns deadly
According to preliminary reports, the group clash in Ambedkarnagar erupted when the vehicles of the two parties collided around 10:30 pm. Heated words quickly escalated, leading to a violent brawl involving knives, bats, axes, and machetes.
Both Sureshbhai and Vijaybhai Parmar sustained grievous injuries and later succumbed to their wounds. The attacker, Arun Barot, also died during the altercation. Three others were injured, two of whom remain hospitalized.
Family alleges alcohol abuse behind the violence
The victims’ father, Vashrambhai Parmar, stated that his sons were returning home after work when the incident occurred.
“I was told to drive while looking ahead when our vehicle hit theirs. They suddenly attacked my sons with knives. My sons died today. We demand strict action and an end to the alcohol menace in our area,” he said, weeping outside the hospital.
The family members broke down in tears as police shifted the bodies for postmortem at Rajkot Civil Hospital.
Police launch investigation into the triple murder case
Confirming the incident, ACP B.J. Chaudhary said,“A group clash took place in Ambedkarnagar, under Malviyanagar Police Station limits. Three people have died — two brothers from one family and one youth from the opposite group.”
Police have registered a murder case under relevant IPC sections and are conducting a detailed investigation.
