Rajkot Police Commissioner Raju Bhargav and Rajkot Municipal Corporation (RMC) Commissioner Anand Patel are among the key officials who have been transferred
GANDHINAGAR, GUJARAT : In response to the devastating TRP game zone fire in Rajkot, which claimed the lives of over 27 individuals, the Government of Gujarat has announced the transfer of several high-ranking officials. The tragic incident, which highlighted severe lapses in safety protocols, has prompted swift administrative changes.
Rajkot Police Commissioner Raju Bhargav and Rajkot Municipal Corporation (RMC) Commissioner Anand Patel are among the key officials who have been transferred. IPS Brajesh Kumar Jha will take over as the new Police Commissioner of Rajkot, aiming to restore public confidence and enhance safety measures.
Additionally, the state government has transferred Vidhi Choudhary (IPS), who served as the Additional Commissioner of Police overseeing Administration, Traffic, and Crime in Rajkot. She will be replaced by Mahendra Bagaria (IPS). Dr. Sudhirkumar Desai (IPS), the Deputy Commissioner of Police for Zone-2, Rajkot, has also been transferred, with Jagdish Bangarwa set to assume his duties.
These officials are currently on hold for their next assignments as the state government continues its administrative reshuffle. The transfers are part of a broader effort to address the systemic issues that contributed to the fire disaster.
Previously, the government had suspended eight officials, including two police inspectors and the Station Incharge of the RMC Fire Department, and the R&B executive engineer. These suspensions and transfers are seen as necessary steps to ensure accountability and to implement more stringent safety regulations across public venues.
