Surat (Gujarat) [India], April 24: Protean eGov Technologies Ltd., a pioneer in building population-scale Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI), has been awarded the mandate by the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) to operate the Aadhaar Seva Kendra (ASK) in Surat. This ASK centre opened at Tulsi Krupa Arcade- First Floor, Near Aia Mata Chowk- Puna Kumbhaiya Road, Parvat Patia- Surat-395020, will help in strengthening citizen access to Aadhaar enrolment and update services across the residential and commercial corridors in and around the city of Surat. To encourage citizens to avail ASK services, the mandatory biometric updates for children in the age groups of 5–7 years (MBU1) and 15–17 years (MBU2) are provided free of cost. Additionally, for children aged 7–15 years, UIDAI has made biometric updates free till 30 September 2026, encouraging parents to complete these updates in a timely manner. These defined age brackets are important as children undergo biometric changes, making periodic updates essential. Importantly, first-time Aadhaar enrolment is completely free of cost, making it easy for every resident to get enrolled without any charges. In addition, this Protean eGov-run ASK centre offers a comprehensive suite of walk-in services, including Aadhaar enrolment, demographic and biometric updates, Aadhaar authentication, and e-KYC services. Designed to deliver a consistent, secure, and citizen-friendly experience, the centre aims to ensure timely and reliable resolution of Aadhaar-related requirements. Shri Govind Dholakia, Hon’ble Member of Parliament (Surat), was invited as the Chief Guest to formally open the ASK center. UIDAI and Protean eGov representatives accompanied Shri Dholakia, as he toured the facility and appreciated the support extended by the local administration in enabling the centre’s operational readiness. He also acknowledged the proactive efforts of Protean eGov in ensuring high standards of service delivery. Opening the Surat Aadhaar Seva Kendra, further reinforces Protean eGov’s role as a trusted partner in building and operating resilient, inclusive, and population-scale Digital Public Infrastructure that supports seamless access to essential identity services for citizens. This initiative is part of Protean eGov’s recent mandate from UIDAI to establish and operate Aadhaar Seva Kendras across multiple districts in the country. Under this mandate, Protean will roll out Aadhaar Seva Kendras across 188 districts nationwide, strengthening last-mile delivery of identity services and improving citizen convenience.
