Sasan Gir, Gujarat : Prime Minister Narendra Modi, donning a tough jungle safari gear with a camera hanging over his shoulder, set out on the jungle safari at the Gir National Park and Wildlife Sanctuary in Gujarat, in a show that combined statesmanship with natural wonder. Modi’s visit was not only a diplomatic one but also a personal journey to the heartland of Gujarat’s natural riches.
The day started with the Prime Minister’s motorcade passing Gir’s gates under a phalanx of security and driven by senior Forest Department personnel. PM Modi set out on the lion safari before dawn, on his search to see the renowned Asiatic lions prowling these historic areas.
Riding Route Number-2 in an open gypsy, excitement mixed with expectation as the Prime Minister searched the thickets for evidence of the magnificent animals. Not long before the forest reacted to his presence. Modi’s camera caught a breathtaking scene amid the rustling trees and far-off calls: a pair of adult lions and their lioness friend lounging regally by the safari path. Later on, Modi himself published the picture that connected with the unvarnished glory of nature.
Not happy with only seeing, Modi sank himself deeper into the experience. He stopped along the path to pick delicate “Keshudo” flowers, therefore adding a vivid splash of local flora to his picture story. Focusing on a lion, calm under a gnarled tree, he caught the core of the moment—an image that would eventually be relevant well beyond the boundaries of the sanctuary.
PM Modi posted some of the stunning pictures of the nature and his wild encounter with the Asiatic lions on his official website in respect of India’s great biodiversity and dedication to its preservation.
